The function of the starter is to convert electrical energy into kinetic energy when the key hits the starting position, so as to start the engine.
When starting the engine, turn the ignition switch to the starting position and turn on the starting relay coil circuit. Drive the crankshaft of the engine to rotate so that the piston of the engine reaches the ignition position.
How the starter works
The circuit is: battery positive terminal→ 30 terminals→ ammeter→ ignition switch→ starting relay "ignition switch" connecting post→ coil → lap iron→ battery negative pole. The core is magnetized, attracting the contact arm and the contact arm is closed.
The solenoid coil circuit is turned on The relay contacts are closed, and the suction coil and the coil current circuit are turned on at the same time. Suction coil circuit: battery positive → 30 terminals→ starting relay "battery" posts, brackets, contacts, "starter" posts→ terminals "50→", suction coils→ starter magnetic field terminals→ motor magnetic field windings→ armature windings→ with iron → battery negative.
Retention coil circuit: battery positive → 30 terminals→ starting relay "battery" post, bracket, contact, "starter" post→ terminal "50" → holding coil → tie iron → battery negative. When the suction coil and the holding coil are just turned on with current, the two coils generate magnetic flux in the same direction, and under the joint action of their magnetic force, the movable core moves forward. The rear end is driven by a slip ring to move the fork to engage the drive gear and the flywheel.
When the motor switch is switched on, the suction coil and the additional resistor are short-circuited. Keep the coil continuing to power on. The movable core maintains the engagement position.
When the drive gear and the flywheel ring gear are close to complete mesh, the movable core drives the push rod to move forward so that the contact plate turns on the main circuit of the starter.
Its circuit is: battery positive → 30 terminals→ motor switch contact plate→ C terminal→ magnetic field winding→ positive brushes→ armature windings→ negative brushes→ with iron→ negative battery negative electrode. The starter switch is disconnected, the starter relay stops working, and the contacts are opened.
The suction coil circuit is: the positive terminal of the battery→ 30 terminals→ the contact plate→ C terminal→ the suction coil → 50 terminals→ keep the coil → the negative pole of the → battery.
The suction of the two coils is cancelled out, the spring is returned, and the drive gear is disengaged from the flywheel and engaged.
