Ten measures to protect the motor by the inverter
Date:2025-02-10 14:45:52

As we all know, the inverter adjusts the voltage and frequency of the output power supply by the interruption of the internal IGBT, and provides the required power supply voltage according to the actual needs of the motor, so as to achieve the purpose of energy saving and speed regulation. What are the ways and measures for the inverter to protect the motor? Let the editor take you to take a look!

1. The output of the overvoltage protection inverter has a voltage detection function, and the inverter can automatically adjust the output voltage, so that the motor does not bear the overvoltage, and the motor runs within the set voltage range.

2. Undervoltage protectionWhen the voltage of the motor is lower than 90% of the normal voltage, the inverter protection stops.

3. Overcurrent protectionWhen the current of the motor exceeds 150%/3 seconds of the rated value, or 200%/10 microseconds of the rated current, the inverter protects the motor by shutting down.

4. Phase loss protection monitors the output voltage, when the output is out of phase, the inverter alarms, and the inverter stops immediately to protect the motor.

5. The inverter can be set to make the motor only rotate in one direction, and the direction of rotation cannot be set, unless the user changes the phase sequence of the motor A, B and C wiring, otherwise there is no possibility of inverting.

6. The overload protection inverter monitors the motor current, and when the motor current exceeds 120%/1 minute of the set rated current, the inverter protects the motor by shutting down.

7. The grounding protection inverter is equipped with a special grounding protection circuit, which is generally composed of a grounding protection transformer and a relay, and the inverter will stop immediately when one or two phases are grounded. Of course, if requested by the user, we can also design to protect the shutdown immediately after grounding.

8. After the output of the inverter is short-circuited, it will inevitably cause overcurrent, and the inverter will stop to protect the motor within 10 microseconds.

9. The overclocking protection inverter has a large and small frequency limiting function, so that the output frequency can only be within the specified range, so as to realize the overclocking protection function.

10. Stall protection: Stall protection is generally for synchronous motors For asynchronous motors, the stall in the acceleration process must be manifested as overcurrent, and the inverter realizes this protection function through overcurrent and overload protection. Stall during deceleration can be avoided by setting a safe deceleration time during commissioning.
